I’ve always loved birds and bird nests. I recently decided to start turning my old tea pots into nests for birds along Deer Woods Trail. I have a pretty nice collection of pots, because I have a tea room in my studio. Now and then one will crack from the hot tea, so I wire them to trees. They are pretty on the trail and offer small birds a start to their nests.
Once I found a lovely, perfect nest, abandoned with a tiny egg. It was so lovely and intricate. Birds are wonderful architects. As I walk the trail I keep an eye out for old nests. I’d love to have a couple to put on the window sill of my studio. Last year I got an Otter skull on the trail. I never er know what I will find there.
